Betsy Ross

Interim Development Assistant

Betsy Ross works with Nourishing Hope as the interim development assistant. Betsy joined Nourishing Hope as a volunteer in 2021 and is proud to currently be part of the development team. This is an exciting transition for her after a rewarding career as an elementary Spanish teacher and a few years off to raise her son, Leo. She previously worked for Purple Asparagus providing nutrition education to bilingual students in underserved CPS schools, and has always been passionate about food access.

She grew up in the northern suburbs, went to school in Colorado, and has traveled and lived in Ecuador, Mexico, and Spain. Betsy’s Chicago roots run deep and she loves calling Andersonville home. She’ll cook you a deluxe vegan meal anytime you want and is always up for a yoga class or a hike.

Nourishing Hope Exists Because of the Support of Our Neighbors.

With multiple food distribution programs that deliver the equivalent of 4 million meals each year, plus thousands of social service visits that empower healthy lives, Nourishing Hope strives to build a brighter future for all Chicagoans. Join us today!
