Therapist

Nicole holds a master’s degree in social work with a concentration in Transforming Justice Programs and Policies from the University of Chicago, as well as a bachelor’s degree in psychology from DePaul University. Prior to joining Lakeview Pantry in April 2021 as a therapist, Nicole worked with youth and adults living with severe and persistent mental illness. Nicole has provided therapeutic interventions to individuals in various community mental health settings and Cook County courthouse locations.

Nicole’s practice is client-centered, focusing on self-determination, harm-reduction, and unconditional positive regard in order to collaborate with clients toward reaching their goals. Nicole works alongside her clients using tools like motivational interviewing, a trauma-informed approach, and mindfulness to promote wellness and prioritize the lived experiences of the client. Nicole’s specific areas of interest include criminal-legal system involvement, housing stability, parenting and child development, and community living skills.
