Colleen Montgomery, LCSW, MSW

Mental Health Clinician

Colleen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  Colleen started at Lakeview Pantry as the Manager of Social Services in January 2018.  In this role, Colleen oversees the development and implementation of all social services programs, and acts as an ambassador on behalf of Lakeview Pantry within the Chicago social services community.  Prior to joining the team, Colleen worked in various non-profit agencies that focused on providing supportive services to children and adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities.  Colleen’s clinical focus is in providing crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals and families who have experienced a traumatizing event.

Colleen focuses on building rapport with her clients by recognizing that every person is the expert of their experiences and abilities.  She works collaboratively with her clients to explore their lives as an exchange of interactions between multiple systems.  Colleen practices from a shared-power perspective to develop mutually-agreed upon goals with her clients, and intervenes using therapeutic strategies based in trauma-informed care and solution-focused therapy. Colleen values a person’s right to self-determination, and prepares clients with the tools and skills they need to continue self-care and self-advocacy beyond the length of treatment.
