Senator Dick Durbin Visits Lakeview Pantry

On Monday, July 6, Senator Dick Durbin stopped by Lakeview Pantry to learn more about the important work we do to provide food for today, hope for tomorrow to our neighbors in need.

After touring the Pantry with Executive Director Gary Garland, Senator Durbin was trained to work at the counter by one of Lakeview Pantry’s veteran volunteers, Anne Blanton. The Senator then spent time helping a client choose his veggies, meats and other staples and chatted with both clients and volunteers about their experiences.

We were thrilled Senator Durbin took the time to stop in and meet the members of our Lakeview Pantry community.
