Due to physical disabilities, many of those eligible for our services are not able to transport the two weeks’ worth of groceries which we provide to our clients. Disabled and homebound clients can receive groceries through our Home Delivery program.
The program, which began in 1989, has expanded to now serve 190 people per month. We have partnered with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) to secure a full-time volunteer to coordinate the Home Delivery program. The JVC member works with our Director of Volunteers to recruit and train the volunteers needed each distribution day who pack the food and deliver it in their private vehicles.
On three Saturday mornings every month, Lakeview Pantry delivers food to some of the people in our neighborhood who need it most: elderly, physically disabled and homebound people, who otherwise could not receive our services.

We are also looking for volunteers to assist with home delivery in order to meet the increase in demand for this service. We need volunteers to help pack food bags and set up for delivery, as well as adults who can make food deliveries in their own car or truck. It is a great opportunity to directly help a neighbor in need! Please contact Erin Stephens at 773-525-1777 x.15 if you want to help.
