LVP Then and Now – Guest Post by Greg Nergaard

By Ashley On January 9th, 2011
As one of Lakeview Pantry's most senior employees, Lakeview Pantry East Coordinator Greg Nergaard reflects on the holiday season and how things have changed in the last decade. We were located in the basement of the old Jane Addams center at Belmont and Broadway. I had just started in July of that year. There were so many differences between then and now that it's hard to know where to start. As the new Director of Development for Lakeview Pantry, I would like to introduce myself and tell you how excited I am to be a part of such a wonderful organization. She has since completed the...

Fresh produce: We are excited about a new relationship that aids us in our efforts to provide fresh produce to our neighbors. The Hunger Resource Network connected us with the Green City Market, which is a local farmer’s market. Twice weekly, 14 vendors at Green City Market donate unsold...

On October 1st, along with 300 of our supporters, Lakeview Pantry marked the 40th year of our work.  The event, which took place at the Red Ivy in Wrigleyville, was a celebration of our community’s response to their neighbors in need.
