In March my co-worker, Sam, and I traveled to Springfield for the lobby days organized by Feeding Illinois. We took a bus downstate on an early Tuesday morning, along with other members of a group organized by the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Once we reached Springfield, our day was a bustle of activity; Feeding Illinois had set up a day of speakers, group break-out meetings and a cocktail reception at the governor’s mansion. Lakeview Pantry services not affected by budget crisis

Lakeview Pantry is thankful that the federal government shutdown has been averted. However, we want to let our community know that if a shutdown ever does occur, we will continue to meet the nutritional needs of the most vulnerable in our community.
