In a very special post, we would like to thank a featured supporter - who also happens to be this month's client story! It has been a dream for Carla* to open her own restaurant. She had the talent and know-how but she needed an updated food and sanitation license to build the foundation to this dream. She came to LVP for the first time in May with modest expectations. LVP Focuses on Nutrition and Obesity Prevention – Guest Post by Stuart Iseminger

While LVP long has prioritized providing nutritional food baskets to our neighbors, we have recently completed programming planning in response to the alarming rates of obesity. Some highlights include the following initiatives:

Farmers' Markets: We publicize which farmers markets accept food stamps by posting signs, distributing flyers, and making announcements. Fresh produce: We are excited about a new relationship that aids us in our efforts to provide fresh produce to our neighbors.
