September happens to be my busiest month of the year and it is chock-full of events with free food and drinks. SNAP Hunger Challenge: Part 3 – Week One, Check.

Grocery shopping is definitely the key to surviving the SNAP Hunger Challenge. In my near-homicidal-hunger-induced stupor on Friday, I managed to make it to Jewel. I spent $12.83 and purchased some basic staples: bread, peanut butter, cereal, margarine, cheese, AND a $2 frozen pizza as a treat. I know what you’re thinking, “A $2 frozen pizza!? SNAP Hunger Challenge: Part 2 – Failing Miserably

9/1-9/3 Update

I’m now a couple of days into my SNAP Hunger Challenge and am failing miserably. Not because I’ve overspent – I haven’t – but because I underestimated how busy I would be and the consequences of that. I moved on Wednesday and haven’t had time to make it to the grocery store, and living on $4.50 nearly impossible if you don’t plan ahead. Generally, I don’t eat breakfast.
